UNeDocsUK is the United Kingdom national implementation of the internationally agreed standards for producing aligned Paper, EDI and XML international trade documents found in the UNeDocs repository.
UNeDocsUK is a development project that offers an extended form of the UNeDocs international standards. It allows software developers, government agencies and traders to develop tools that can be used to implement paperless international trade in a business environment.
The UNeDocs standards-based data repository for international trade related data, which UNeDocsUK builds upon, was developed by SITPRO and UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) and is now managed by UN/CEFACT (United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business).
The UNeDocsUK standards are available free of charge from www.unedocsuk.co.uk (Link to an external site - Disclaimer
) and the UK repository currently includes data elements from 18 documents taken from the UK Aligned Series of paper documents. Additional extensions are currently being developed by the project team.
In addition to making these standards freely available, SITPRO is continuing to authorise the production of UK aligned documentation through its network of printers and software suppliers. This will ensure that traders can remain certain that they are purchasing documents and software that accurately implement these internationally recognised standards.
