The International Chamber of Commerce have set in motion plans to revise Incoterms, the trade terms for agreeing the division of risks and obligations in international trade. The first stage in this process is an international consultation, to which SITPRO will be contributing.
SITPRO wants to hear from traders about how they use the current Incoterms, to identify problems with the current Incoterms and to collate suggestions for ways of improving them. Are there Incoterms that works perfectly for you just as they are? Are there Incoterms that you just never use? Is there a completely new type of Incoterm that you would find useful?
Whatever your experiences, we want to hear from you and to ensure that your views are considered during this revision. You can either answer a short questionnaire on our website, or you can contact our Policy and Research Manager, Siobhan Aarons, directly on 020 7215 8167 or siobhan.aarons@sitpro.org.uk
. Either way, please let us have your responses by Friday 25 January 2008.
If you have never used Incoterms and want to know why so many traders use this international trade tool, you can find out more in the two guides on our website.
