SITPRO NEWS Trade Facilitation Now!

There are still a few places left at SITPRO's Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Information Seminars on 17 June 2008. Businesses have seized upon the opportunity to learn more about this new scheme so that they can make an informed decision about whether to apply. Traders who would like to register for one of the remaining places can call 020 7215 8145 or email peter.kenton@sitpro.org.uk Mail Icon.

SITPRO's Peter Kenton, who will be facilitating this event said, "I am delighted with the response we have received to this event. It is a great chance for businesses, particularly SMEs, to get an unbiased view of the AEO process and to cut through the conflicting information that they might have received."

Authorised Economic Operator schemes are an expanding component of the secure international supply chain and similar projects being developed in many countries. While UK businesses are still getting to grips with the European AEO scheme, SITPRO is also looking ahead towards creating mutual recognition between the European scheme and the US C-TPAT programme. Towards this goal, SITPRO is also organising a workshop at the end of June to elicit and collate trade opinions and recommendations on the issues arising from mutual recognition, which will be offered to the respective administrations to inform the discussions as they develop.
