SITPRO NEWS Trade Facilitation Now!

NES will be implemented at all maritime ports on Sunday 27th October 2002!

To be able to send electronic declarations to Customs you must:

  • Choose and set up your electronic route to Customs
  • Upgrade your computer systems to take account of NES
  • Select the type of declaration procedures you intend to use
  • Complete and return the necessary NES Authorisation Form(s)

If you are involved in third country exports or you make export declarations to Customs then the New Export System is likely to have a major impact on your business. If you haven't done so already you need to make sure that you have the necessary systems and procedures in place to be able to communicate electronically with Customs.

Time is running out and customs have warned those who have not yet taken action to talk to their IT Department/software supplier, their Agent/Freight Forwarder/CSP, their own export staff and their local customs officer, immediately.

Further information: You can get help and guidance about NES and a NES Authorisation pack from the National Advice Service on 0845 010 9000, the NES Helpline on 029 2038 6254/55 or online at www.hmce.gov.uk External Link Icon.
