SITPRO NEWS Trade Facilitation Now!

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and SITPRO have announced the joint development of an Adaptive National Blueprint for UNeDocs. UNeDocs is a United Nations project to develop and implement international trade documents in paper and electronic format using a standards-based approach.

The Blueprint will consist of a set of UNeDocs documents, a toolkit for trade facilitators to implement national requirements and a high-level capacity-building component. It will conform to a standard model of the international supply chain, allowing any country, independent of its trade facilitation and electronic business readiness, to benefit fully from an aligned system of national trade documents.

It incorporates the experience and achievements of ElecTra and WebElecTra, the electronic trade document systems developed by SITPRO to facilitate UK trade.

"The Blueprint opens a migration path for Governments and trade from the currently paper-based trade environments into advanced electronic business environments," says Carol Cosgrove-Sacks, Director of the UNECE Trade Development and Timber Division. The UN will make the Blueprint available to Governments and trade associations for national implementation projects to simplify documentary procedures, regional or sub-regional integration and security for international trade.
