The International Trade Procedures Working Group (ITPWG) met in Geneva on the 29th and 30th September 2003. As the first item of business, SITPRO was unanimously voted to the vacant Chair of the Group.
The ITPWG is a group of experts in trade facilitation and international trade procedures relating to administration, commerce and transport, working under the mandate of UN/CEFACT, which aims to identify, simplify, harmonise and align public and private sector practices, procedures and information flows relating to international trade transactions both in goods and related services.
Areas from the group's work programme under discussion at the meeting included Single Window, the Benchmarking Guide, Maritime Transport Documentation Procedures and the two Models on Trade Facilitation and Security.
