The last edition of SITPRO News reported on a research project, known as Hermes, studying the savings that paperless trade can bring to the perishable goods sector. Following on from this, SITPRO has been working with three potential licensees in the development of promising pilot projects to prove the concept of UNeDocsUK. We hope to demonstrate savings in some of the areas highlighted in the Hermes research by introducing e-solutions for perishable goods transactions. Other examples will hopefully show similar benefits for different sectors, thus proving the value of the research to other businesses.
These pilots aim at demonstrating the efficacy of the latest version of UNeDocsUK, backed up by some firm illustrations of the benefits realised by each of these pilots. The eventual aim is for the pilots to become live ongoing systems. The case studies developed may prove useful in identifying new concepts, cost savings and other benefits of UNeDocsUK that could be seen by the wider trading community in the UK. If you are interested in piloting UNeDocsUK in your company or want to know more about the project please contact Sue Bravery on 020 7215 8112 or at sue.bravery@sitpro.org.uk
