Sincere thanks to everyone who answered our recent survey on the burden of security. We gathered responses from all parts of the trading community, including freight forwarders, port authorities, shippers and airlines, who have given us a valuable insight to the burdens of security and the emerging costs. The results we have gathered are outlined in a new leaflet and they include some surprising findings, particularly regarding where traders turn for information on security legislation. In addition to providing some interesting food for thought regarding our work on security issues, these results have already been added to our contribution to the consultation by the Cabinet Office on a Unified Border Force.
