On 7 January 2008 several members of ASEAL (Asia, Europe Alliances for paperless trade) met in Paris to initiate arrangements for the 4th summit to be held later this year in Taiwan. ASEAL aims to develop and implement e-solutions for paperless trading using internationally agreed UN/CEFACT standards. This will universally simplify interoperability allowing existing and new members to communicate with each other, building an Asia-Europe network of partners that are ready to engage in paperless trading and enjoy the benefits that will bring.
SITPRO will attend the meeting sponsored by TradeVan, Taiwan on behalf of UK trade. Companies wishing to become involved in paperless trading pilot projects exchanging SITPRO documents using UNeDocsUK should contact Sue Bravery (sue.bravery@sitpro.org.uk
