SITPRO NEWS Trade Facilitation Now!

Over the last six months at SITPRO, a Spanish student, Fernando de Miguel, has been looking at the EU Services Directive and the way in which it should be implemented by the UK Government as part of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce’s Young European Entrepreneur programme. In order to achieve the fulfilment of this project Fernando initially met with stakeholders to discuss about how the implementation process should be addressed, suggesting modifications to the initial Government proposal.

In addition, Fernando undertook initial research in other areas in which SITPRO is interested, including the trade facilitation principles and its application to the intra-EU trade or how the Country of Origin principle could be introduced to any extent after its replacement in the final EU Services Directive by the freedom to provide services.
