Part of SITPRO's new strategy to raising national awareness of itself and expand research into trade facilitation is to offer projects to university students looking for summer placements.
Last year, as we have reported in SITPRO News, we offered three projects for students from Lancaster and Hull Universities to carry out research into paperless trading and the authorised economic operator concept. The students came up with useful analysis and novel ideas that bear publication, and we are working with the universities to allow their work to be available to the wider trading community. Based on the feedback we have received, the projects that SITPRO can offer in the field of trade facilitation are interesting, stretching and relevant to their course work.
Building on this success in 2007, we are in the process of identifying suitable projects for this year. We would like to hear your ideas for research projects that we can offer for student placements in 2008. I invite you to send any thoughts to graham.bartlett@sitpro.org.uk
