SITPRO NEWS Trade Facilitation Now!

Next week a major Brussels Conference will discuss how we can create a more competitive business environment in Europe.

The European Customs in a Changing World conference is being held on Tuesday 27 June. It is jointly sponsored by European trade interest groups, has drawn an impressive array of senior figures from around the Community and the European Commission and speakers include Commissioner Kovacs and Miroslaw Zielinski, Director for Customs Policy.

These discussions on modernisation of the Customs Code and its impact on competitiveness will be chaired by Peter Wilmott, former Commissioner for VAT and Excise Duties and Board Director at SITPRO, the UK trade facilitation agency.

Mr Wilmott commented that “The conference is clearly appealing to a wide range of business interests and with discussion of the Implementing Provisions for the Security Amendment to the Common Customs Code coming to a head the timing could not be better.”

The conference takes place at the Renaissance Hotel in Brussels and is being sponsored by EUROPRO, UNICE, IRU, the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union and the European Express Association.
