- Members are invited to comment on the paper which builds on past ICC representations to WTO negotiators. Iain MacVay (Chair of ICC UK Committee on Trade and Investment Policy) will lead on this item.
- Raising the political profile of TF
- Members are invited to discuss whether TF should seek a higher profile and if so, what TFAAG can do to assist the Commission and DTI
- Implementation issues
- Members are invited to comment on the ways in which implementation (including technical assistance and capacity building (TACB)) should be addressed in a WTO agreement on trade facilitation. The NGTF may use the latest version of the Draft Disciplines on Domestic Regulation as a possible template. However, the proposals are weaker than desirable and show a disposition in the WTO towards weakening provisions applying to developing countries and LDCs. Under its section X all developing countries are to be given a flat transitional period in which to comply and all LDCs a total exemption.
